unConnected Drive

Thought I'd relay this in case anyone else has had the same probs.

Took delivery of new 520d M Sport 22nd Dec. Since then have been trying to get the connected drive connected. Filled out the application of course and have rung a few times. In previous phone calls I have been fobbed off with 'application is in progress'. I was told that as recently as three days ago by a lady who said she would try and get it put through a bit quicker.

So today, still nothing so I rang again, only to be told there is a problem with certain vehicles and it isn't possible to connect the drive at this time. She read out a prepared apologetic statement! No time frame was given as to when the matter will be resolved.

Naturally, I am just a tad disgusted.

Did they say if there was a common factor for the vehicles, such as build date?

No, she didn't say anything apart from reading out the prepared statement. 'We're sorry. The problem can't be fixed for the time being and we can't say when it will be fixed'.

Which is just what you want when you've spent 40k.

That's totally rubbish. In my option, anyone in this situation should be given a refund of the cost of the connected drive services option (at the very least).

I have spoken to the local dealership who reckon they might have a solution whereby they can connect me from there. Waiting for a chap to ring me.

I will let you know how that turns out!

Connected drive customer services is rubbish in UK.

I went online, filled in all the details and sent the form.

Never heard from bmw (no e-mail, no phone or anything).

No comments how I feel but if they are not concerned, then let it be as it is!
