Thanks for all of the comments. In all honesty I'm not disputing I'm guilty...but working with my solicitor to see if there's a way to keep driving if I have 19-points on my licence.

I got caught my the French Gendarme on the A1 north of Paris doing 145mph in my M3 fifteen years ago. The police officer was not at all impressed and I was arrested, my car impounded and I was fined 2000 Euros and I was told there was a very real prison threat being caught at that speed. I also had to pay another 1700 Euros in legal "fees" and to free my car and pay for its "storage" whilst the legal stuff was underway. Took nearly a month to get my car back.

I was caught in France doing 112 in 2013 and was fined 750 euros and banned from driving in France for 4 months. They use special binoculars with a speed gun attached to them so when you approach the end of the huge long road with nothing on it they are waiting for you |

I got 'done' in France for driving at 116mph years ago, when I had the cruise control set at 75mph (close to Calais, ahead of plan) and was being passed by knackered old French registered cars. They were in an Impreza WRX and followed me for a few miles, I remember commenting that it was a good job I was taking it easy as I'd no idea where they came from! They stopped me, we had a nice chat about where I was going, what time the ferry was etc and then they produced a speed gun with the speed in it, I said it wasn't me and then the mood changed. I scraped enough Euros together to pay the fine thinking I would complain when I got home, but there weren't any contact details on the receipt.
I'm still annoyed about it now and it must have been 10 years ago! |

How did you get on in the end? Did the car go up for sale again? If you did sell it, it would be good to try and keep it on the forum at least
