LCI 550 information?
Hi,
I have an 08 335, looking to get rid of it and get into a F10 550i M sport. I did not do research when I got my car and got a pre-lci, ended up wanting all LCI parts. So this time around I'm looking to do it right What year does the LCI come in effect for the F10 550i? What changes were made? thanks for any info I am currently searching as well

LCI started in 2014.
You get different headlights and the touch pad I drive screen. Someone else can chime in on other parts that changed as im not 100% sure. |

Side turn signals were also moved from the front quarter pannels to the mirrors.

LCI's have build dates from 7/2013. For the 550, the N63tu (technical update) engine was introduced adding another 45 horsepower. The LCI's are a bit quieter, steering feel was improved and the suspension was tightened up slightly.
I personally wouldn't go anywhere near a 550. Reliability is bad and those engines are poorly designed ticking time bombs. |

The LCI 550s are fine for reliability. It's the 2011-2012 N63 that you should worry about. Of course the 535s are going to be more reliable in general. There's just less stuff to break and less torque/heat to deal with. What you're saying is similar to someone else say "More 535s have engine problems than 550s". Yeah it's true and it's because total sales volume of 550s are a tiny fraction of 535s.
BTW, I've never seen a boosted V8 being super reliable unless it's a truck turbo diesel. You gotta pay to play and everything is relative. |

Thanks for all the information.
A lot of people have been saying to get a 535 over a 550, I'd really like the 550 though. When I got the 335, a lot of people said get the N55 over the N54, but I have the N54, 500whp, put 40k on it, and nothing went wrong at all. The smarter choice would be the 535, but lolll
