i-Pod Warning

Just wanted to warn those of you with Apple i-Pods to not download the latest software update. I have a sixth generation Nano, at up until last night when I re-synced some new music and got the latest software update, now all my songs are in alabetical order, and no longer in the order of the album tracks that they should be in. I called Apple, but they are stating the car probably needs an update. Once again...up untill the software update, I would have album tracks as they came on the album....no other changes were made to settings or anything else and is not the first time I have synced this device. It even shows album tracks as they are on the album on the Nano screen, yet on the car they are in alphbetical order.

Any ideas?

Thanks ghueser, this sucks.

Did you notice trouble with playlists as well?

As a workaround, you could put each album in a dedicated playlist (name of the playlist would be the album title). That might work.

Currently, I don't have any playlists. I just had downloaded my Library and some Podcasts, and up untill the software update, was very pleased with the setup. I am used to having the album tracks as they came with the album, and that's the way it shows on my library and Nano. Either I am a complete dope and have missed somehting simple, or Apple has hosed up something with the upgrade. For now I beleive more of the later.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't know if I could do the whole album to playlist thing correctly............and should not have to bother with it when everything worked fine up to this point.

Also, I am not trying to say that this will happen to other i-Pods, but I can confirm it is an issue with the 6th gen Nano.

No offense but I hope its your Nano.

I juts reset my 120gb ipod and its empty while I finished putting the artwork in for 1600 albums. The last thing I want once I reinstall 120gb of music is for the order of my playlists and albums to be whacked. I hope I am finished in the next week or two, I am doing some each day in preparation for my April 1st'ish delivery.

I just tried my old iPod classic and it plays the album songs in proper sequence. This tells me that Apple screwed up something with their 1.1 upgrade for the Nano.
