Anyone bought the OEM rear windows blind?
I found this on getbmwparts below but not sure how they attach in each window... with clip or else. Anyone bought it and have picture taken so I can take a look?

I think you just push them against the window and the snug fit around the windowframe holds them in place.

When you buy it as an option the side windows pull up/down and are hidden in the trim. The rear is electrically powered by a switch. I think it'll be a complex retrofit.

I purchased the rear and two passenger ones off amazon. They shipped from a BMW dealer for 25 dollars less than my local dealer offered. The rear comes with tabes already attached. You just snap in to place around trim. The rear passenger side windows uses 4 clamps per window with double-sided tape you pill and stick onto the trim to hold in place. They work very well and when they're not in use they may be folded up and put into the accompanying bag for storage.

Having owned a 2011 with factory shades and a 2013 without, the rear window sills look VERY wide.
I can't believe a $65k car doesn't have this standard. Hell my $20k-cheaper Acura MDX and numerous Japanese/Korean cars do... |

I have the blinds as well and really like them. I got them to screen out some of the direct sun hitting the rear seats because I have a small child. This is my second F10. On the first, I had them installed by the dealer -- total waste of money for the installation because I didn't realize how simple they were to put in. I think the install cost me $150... I got a new F10 about a month ago and installed them myself in about 20 minutes. As ectower says, the rear window blind clips in and the side window blinds attach to clips which are easily affixed to the window frame using 3M tape.

Nice... You have any picture when it attached on the read and side windows?
How easy to remove and put it away when don't need it? I have 2 kids and is good to block Sun shine. Thanks. Quote:

us_matrix: I'll try to snap a couple of pics tonight. In terms of ease of taking off / on: It's probably just a few minutes altogether and they include a nylon storage bag. Having said that, before I bought them I expected to take them off whenever my daughter was not in the car but, in reality, I never do. From the outside, the windows just look like they're tinted unless you get up really close. And from the inside, you can see through them pretty effectively so there just hasn't been any reason to remove them.
I think I like them as a better alternative to tinting at least for my situation: My last F10 was a lease and I was easily able to remove them and re-install in my new F10 lease at no cost to me. When I turn this car in at the end of the lease, I can again easily return the car to as-delivered condition for free. |

Ceramic tint does not interfere with the vehicle's electronics AND it has better heat blocking/resistance properties keeping you and the cabin cooler even when the sunlight is directly shining upon your direction. As for brand, I understand Llumar and 3M to be among the best.
