MHD Stage 1 vs. Stage 2

How big is the difference? Would like to hear impressions of anyone who used Stage 1 for awhile then bumped up to stage 2. The extra HP listed isn't a huuge increase, curious about the overall difference in feel, anything unexpected about reliability/maintenance, etc.

Seems like a basic question but I can't find anything through searches...

There would be a small noticable difference but stage2+ will def. be a difference you would notice. Stage 1 vs Stage 2 doesnt have that big of a torque difference. If we are talking about PWG car.

Thanks man, good to know. After I get my AR catted DP and Wagner FMIC installed, I'm debating whether I pay for stage 2/2+ or just go custom/wedge.

If you are PWG, MHD stage 2/2+ is probably best/cheaper route. Those maps sounds like they are taking full advantage of pump gas on stock turbo.

Yea, I'm PWG. 2/2+ might be it...I'm in Colorado so first am going to ask wedge if the high altitude is a good enough reason to go custom, or maybe it doesn't really matter

I ran my car on MHD stage 1 for a long time and then decided to purchase the stage 2 after changing out the cp, and dp (catless). Made a huge difference with catless dp, and once i upgraded the intercooler i tried the stage 2+ on 93 octane but had to dial it back due to constant corrections. MHD OTS tunes are not bad but the constant throttle closures are frustrating and that's where a custom tune comes into play. Wedge is a good option, but i am currently working eith Bradley and for the money he is hard to beat. If you want his info pm me and i can give you his number.

Check out my most recent log. He is just about done tuning my car... It is a 2011 535i with brand new coilpacks, and the NGK 2 step colder plugs with VRSF fmic, cp, and ER catless dp.
