Catted DPs
So I've sorted all the mods for my 550 and the only outlier is catted downpipes. I live in MD where we have to go through emissions testing every two years and to spend $1200 plus installation only to fail emissions would really suck.
Has anyone successfully passed emissions testing with intakes, exhaust, JB4 and DPs installed? Also, in MD, if the car is throwing any codes, it fails as well.

I run catless dp in Illinios, there is a mod you can put on the downpipe where the 2nd sensor reads emissions after it suppose to go through cats. With this mod it puts the sensor further away causing to read less on emission thus saying everything is working.
I have catless downpipe with no cel because of the mod. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/O2-Sensor-Spa.../dp/B00CZFCPQU I think there is specific one for BMW because the mod on my downpipe is a little longer and curved. This will keep your car at 100 percent readiness. Last edited by ziekxq; 12-14-2016 at 08:56 AM.. |
