1. Could potentially void warranty on engine, turbos, etc. dealer would have to prove DPs are cause of damage, unless your SA is cool with it. Downpipes would need to be removed prior to any warranty work being done anyway. So if you know something is wrong with the car, have your downpipes removed beforehand.
2. You only see gains in the mid to high end, feels like I loss torque in the low end. 3. See question 1 4. You don't. Remove and reinstall if you have to smog. |

Considering the low-end torque lost... nevermind. I love the low-end torque... been trying to find something to boost it more from the 2K-5K range

Warranty is at risk for sure, but thats with any engine modification of course. There is a dealer mechanic on this board that will help you with that, but you have to be in Southern California for him to help.
Performance gains are only noticed when you get a tune that knows about the DP. Otherwise low performance gains felt in the midrange to top end. Don't don't without a tune to address the DP. The gas smell is not worth trade off if the power gains aren't achieved. I have not gone to smog yet, but it's possible to pass with proper coding on a tune. I'll be the first to try it in March of next year. I'll let you know

I've seen decent performance gains on my N55, but wish I had the N63TU. Cost to performance spend the money on the 550 and it will still be faster than a 535 modded. I bring my car to the dealer all the time modded. I can not pass emissions even with my AR Hi-flow Cat DP. So I remove it and reinstall my stock DP, my current inspection costs are around $150 for reinstall/install+ inspection for New York.
