Door Handle touch locking

I noticed that when i touch the top of the outsided door handle i can only lock the car from the rear doors now. Anyone had that happen?
First i thought my cell was blocking the signal but not so.

Im confused. are you saying that it used to work on all the doors but now you can only lock all the car doors via the rear doors?

correct. I noticed that when i leave the car and i touch either of the front door handles it won't lock/arm, but if i touch the rear doors it works fine.

Yes. The car has multiple near field antennas that allow the system to distinguish if your fob is inside the vehicle or outside th vehicle.

If the fob battery is weak, the distance between the fob and the closets NF antenna could be closer when actuating the rear door handle lock and too distant for the fob's available power when actuating the front door lock.

However, this possibility may be rebutted by the fact that the key fob's battery is supervised. Thus, the system should convey the low battery condition of the fob.

Looks like the door handle. I scanned it with my computer and shows a short. So I swapped the right front and right rear handles and the problem reversed.
Also measured the bad one and some of the 4 pins have a slight short. Go BMW!!
