BMW F10 DME Update [Experience]
Hello everyone,
So i bought a 2011 535i and since the day i bought it was shifting hard both up and down. I would feel every single shift as if my entire car is shifting with the transmission... I researched into it and not many posts have been made regarding this issue and I called my dealer and they said to start with a software update.... I paid the $260 and bit the bullet to perform the software update before I did a trans fluid change.... IT MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE! The update completely changed my shift points and where it holds the rpm in bumper to bumper traffic which made it soooo much smoother!!!! Anyone having trans issues should ask if theres a DME update available for their cars because it made a huge difference in mine!! Also it has a much smoother power delivery now! |

Common, especially for a first year F10. BMW is constantly refining their software to improve drivability as well as to address and help avoid problems that crop up.
I'd be surprised if this 2011 F10 hasn't previously had a software update during one of its scheduled maintenance visits.
