Yeaaah... I asked my local agent for a quote and was kind of shocked at the figure (at first i thought they MUST have made a mistake with the decimal point). It seems that, for the moment, around 22k + installation really is the best deal you can get for the N63tu
On the other hand.....the promised 525 hp (for motor N63B44O1) is kind of tempting (provided my wife doesn't find out how much it cost). http://preisliste.ac-schnitzer.de/acs_kpl/ |

It's the warranty that concerns me, and I think a significant part of the price of the Schnitzer tune goes towards the guarantee. |

At the moment of my 11.9 record run I had. BMs 2, AR catted down pipes, 3 inch exhaust. Now I added lighter wheels 10lbs lighter per wheel, springs and methanol injection.

I saw in a BMS thread elsewhere about removing the carbon filter in the 550. Is that your setup? Is there any downside to removing that carbon filter long term?

Hey I'm sure its listed somewhere but what all is done to your car? Is it just the BMS Stage 2? I ask because I'm looking into getting a larger car than my current 335d. I've had excellent experience with BMS, had it on my 07 335i when they first came out, my 335d has the JBD and now its time for a new daily driver. I'm looking at a 550i or an E550. Both cars make good power when tuned and fit the size sedan I'm looking for. I'm thinking I'll go the CPO route and get a 1-2 year old car so either a 12 or 13 550i, if I decide to pull the trigger. Everyone else: Do you all like your 550s? I would get a Sport package car at the least with a M-Sport as my primary want. This should go in a different post I know, but the tuning ability is what is going to help be the determining factor for my purchase.

I A/B'd the E550 and the 550i heavily before buying, and it really wasn't even close. The Merc is much more "floaty", not nearly as sharp in steering/driving and the power delivery is about the same even though it's N/A compared to FI. I had always wanted a Merc V8 but back to back comparisons left me with the 550 and by a mile, really. It would probably take an AMG to get me out of a BMW but then again I'd have to compare it to an M-series to accurately compare.
My 550 is a '12 but isn't CPO, but had 30k miles left on the warranty and considering how little I drive, that will expire before I use all my miles. The 550 is the best blend of the 535's comfort with performance not at the M5 level, but enough for what most anyone would use. The torque on this car is just nuts. I'm going to have a hard time going to a V6 again after this. The drive settings really do transform the car more than I thought they would too. Sport and Sport+ are a totally different animal than Comfort (standard Drive) and Comfort+. Those are my impressions/observations. i recommend driving them within a day of each other if possible to get an accurate comparison, that's what I did. I'm pretty sure you'll end up with the B M in the end.

Hey thanks for the replies. I think this weekend I will drive each back to back to get a proper feeling for each and then compare.
I'm leaning toward the BMW based upon past experience.
