Issue after Dinan Stage 2 Install
Hi Folks
I just had DS 2 installed today. However after the install my Navigation screen is not coming on. My local Dinan dealer tried to disconnect the battery to reset the system, did not work. Next step, car was kept off for another 30 min, it still did jot come on. He wants me to rest the car overnight to see that if it comes on after being off overnight. So basically anything being controlled by CIC (navigation, media etc. is not working. HUD, blind spot is still working well. Anybody experiencing the similar issue. My car 13 550 xi. |

I know there's a software update for the navigation system per a service bulletin for the 5 series because my car is at the dealership being flashed now.

I had the same problem after Dinan Stage 2 and the Nav went into "transportation mode". Same exact issue as you. Black screen. We tried unplugging the battery and all sorts of other stuff. Not sure what they ended up doing to fix it though but all is good.

I felt the extra power right away. Wait for a couple more days and ask them to reinstall if you're not happy with it.

So no luck guys. Screen remains lifeless after the overnight rest. Spoke with local Dinan dealer. Will go back on Tuesday. Don't feel like driving the car without CIC. hopefully they take care of it.

Had stage 3 done coming up from stage 1 and no problems. Maybe they flashed an update into the car for the NAV update in the wrong order. Let us know. Keep us informed.

The update. My car has been with the my Local Dinan Delaer since morning. They have been unable to fix my dead CIC so far. What he has told me that "Dinan is writing a new software for my car and he is waiting to get that from Dinan" Does that sound right. What should I do. I am getting concerned.

Call Scott at BMW North Houston. I had the same problem and he was able to trouble shoot with the techs to get it fixed. He would probably be willing to tell you what steps to take.
