Whats the alternative? Every 5. year? I think its good BMW brings us new technology as fast as possible. And I think its a smart strategy to test it out in vehicles like 6 and 7 series which are produced in relatively small numbers before its offered in 5 and 3 series.

You are throwing a fit because the model next year has more updated features than yours??? So depriving new owners of best equipment possible would somehow make you feel better? I find this mind boggling. In contrary, I am thrilled that BMW would implement new technology as soon as possible instead of waiting for facelift or major model year change. That's the best way to keep up or stay ahead of its competitor. |

I'm really dissappointed at the current "black panal" on the 5. The full black panael should have been implemented from the beginning. The way it is now is pretty ugly at night with a off center black box.

I know I'm in the minority here but I kinda like the current set-up with the real gauges and the lcd box for vehicle info and warnings. The completely black panel LCD set up looks.....well kinda Japanese/Lexus-like IMO. Not that there's anything wrong with that

BMWs with combox can: 1) Bluetooth streaming (A2DP) from cell phones, 2) SMS/Text display from phones supporting mobile office protocol 3) Single USB connection to iPod with album arts 4) internet access via cell phone etc The black screen may look cool, but adds very little useable feature/info display......

This will give a different between current 520d 2 liter and 525d 3 liter. But I'm only guessing, but this would make sense.

The main advantage is that the info can be spaced out nicely instead of bunched up in a small area. This is more apparent in navigation info displaying, and you get much larger graphics. And you also get the nice red lines background complementing the interior ambient lighting. |
