Hartge ECU

Well I am pretty excited, have an appointment to bring my car into Hartge in January for them to install their ECU for my 550. Been hemming and hawing over this for some time. Thanks Cidair for your feedback. I plan on letting the forum know how my experience went with some photos and my impressions afterwards.

Power increase is from 407 hp to 490 hp. Torque is from 600 Nm / 442 lbft to 720 Nm / 531 lbft.

So far my experience has been top notch with Jörg.

Nice! You won´t be disappointed. My car works very well, and I have now logged more than 35.000km with the Hartge ECU. Together with my Supresprint exhaust, I think I have more than 500hp.

Jörg is really a great person! Give him my regards when You meet him.

They do offer one for the 535 ...

Engine conversion (additional ECU)
for 535i (based on 225 kW / 306 hp /
engine N55B30 Twin Scroll Turbo)
266 kW (392 hp) / 5660 rpm 480 Nm (lb-ft 354) / 2950 rpm

I notice your in my area, you could be among the few that actually have their work done at Hartge they are off of the A8 just past Saarlouis.

I talked to a Danish 535i owner, when I was at Hartge in October. They had installed the ECU on his car and he was really happy with the result.

Hartge exports an incredible amount of their products, I would definately reach out to them via email or phone for how they handle exporting ECU's or possibly authorized mechanics to do so.

I go next weekend, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeassse dont snow, lol. I will be peeved if my lack of winter tires/rims makes me reschedule. Its supposed to be cold next week.

How hard is it to install the ECU? I am in Japan and the 535i is not available yet. Was thinking of ordering one from Europe and installing it myself - is it just plug and play?
