Spacer Advice

I am running BMW 345M wheels (F10 M5 19" wheels) on a 2013 550xi lowered on ACS springs with Michelin PSS tires 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. The offsets for the front 19x9 wheels are 32 and the rear 19x10 wheels are 34.

The rear offset is very aggressive and the rim protector lip on the tire is 3 mm outside the fender when unloaded. The front is not as aggressive and I am thinking about adding spacers so it looks similar to the rear instead of tucked under the fender.

I am debating whether 5mm or 10mm spacers are the right choice here, any thoughts?

As I was commenting on a previous thread, many claim that anything less than a 10mm spacer would be dangerous as there would not be enough room to make a proper hub centric lip. Otoh, man run 10mm h&r spacers up front with no issue. I think 10mm spacers in the front would be great. I have seen larger spacers on the front, and it puts the wheel too far out.

I measured and at full compression, 5mm spacer is the max you could go. 10mm would look better and frankly would probably be fine 99% of the time. Will play around with this more (and post pics) after the weather improves a bit.

I have just put 345m wheels on my car with pilot super sport 265/40/19 on front and 295/35/19 on rear and I agree, the back wheels are really aggressive and the fronts could do with spacing out slightly. Would be interesting to see pics of someone has put spacers on and what size they used and also to see if there are any problems.

I put 12mm in the rear (looks great with 275's) and tried the same in the front, but the fronts (245's) were out too far. was advised by turner motor sports that rims with an internal bevel on the hub of the wheel (which mine have) require a min 12mm spacer in order to ensure that the wheel sits properly on the hub. I think the car looks great with no spacers in the front (the dinan springs help as well). I have 19 inch wheels. would love the look of 20's, but would have to be too low profile for my daily commute into manhattan (pot holes!).

You must be talking 12mm spacers with the factory 351m wheels. 12mm spacers with 343m or 345m (M5) rear wheels would make the tire stick out from the wheel well about 5/8"

I put them on a 520d and they went straight on with no probs, the fronts are very close to the struts but absolutely no rubbing. I will get some pics on this weekend if you want to see them. I'll try dig out the rim widths but they are the official 345m 19" wheels if that helps.

Pictures...ACS Springs, 345m wheels, PSS Tires (245/275), no spacers. 5mm spacer would be ideal for the front but I need to find a hub extender that works on the F10.
