N63 Front Mount Intercooler swap?

I was curious if we would get any benefit out of changing out intercoolers to something like this? I know it would probably be a good amount of customization and if these intercoolers would fit up front on the bumper. Or is the placement of these intercoolers alot better now for our motors.

It would be extremely hard to do on an N63 car. That is because there are two turbos and two intake manifolds and the air travels in a straight path very close to the engine. In order to run an intercooler like this, one would have to completely reroute all charge piping to either two intercoolers or a single two core intercooler. In the engine bay there's no room for an alternate path like this, and in the bumpers there is no room for a single or double intercooler setup.

But it would help a lot though...

Is there a lot of custom work to make them fit?

Yes, I would like to know where I can get these as well and if they're direct what does need to be changed out I'm sure the pipping or the brackets? I just want to make sure nothing major needs to be done if not less then the Dinan intercoolers also I'm assuming these would be better the dinans as well being 35% vs 33% from the Dinan.

Ebay....No difference in feel, however, Turbos have upper limits and cooler intake temperatures minimizing detonation. Very hard to find unless ordered from dealer at astronomical price tag.

Good evening,

what do you people (other than Alpina which are unfortunately VERY hard to find) suggest as FMIC for an F06 LCI 650i (N63TU eingine)? Please mention a few brands, makers that I can then check or out of experience somebody can perhaps strongly recommend one in particular?

Thanks in advance and Regards

Cris

Dinan is the only one making the bigger intercoolers outside of Alpina and they work just as well.

There’s another option... here’s s63tu engine with x5m x6m F85 F86 turbos & intercoolers , I’m pretty sure you can slightly modify them for n63/n63tu turbos
