How to remove Chemical Smell
So had a canister of those flat tire fixers like this below and unfortunately it broke some how. Luckily I had in the tray area of the trunk. However it left a very strong smell in the trunk that seaps into the cabin, smells like fuel vapors. Which I thought initially I had that fuel vapor issues like the ones mention in another thread. Luckily it was just from this leak, so how do I get rid of it? The oder has somewhat absorbed into the carpet of the trunk, can I steam clean that material? Any suggestion on how to remove smell?

leave the trunk open every night while in the garage with some airflow (open garage door, cracked doors, etc), or outside with trunk open
clean all areas with an APC spray an aerosol smell remover like ozium http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/ozi...od3854-product Repeat as necessary until the smell is gone..might take 1-2 days, might take a week |

Make sure to unplug the light bulb in the trunk or pull the fuse. if you leave it open all night, it will drain your battery.
