3D Navigation Images

Hi Guys,

Still very happy with my new car, but especially impressed by the 3D navigation renderings. Here are some images (I live in Rotterdam, the Netherlands):

Do you have images of 3D navigation renderings from other cities? Just curious how it looks for example in New York or any other large city.

Do all F10 navs have this? I've never seen it on mine. Do I have to zoom into 100 m like yours to see it? I guess I'll check later.

I have the similar 3d view ... actually, you will need to check off on the Nav menu to see this.

In (Toronto, Ont) Canada, the 3d view is only applicable to Downtown (with lots of high rise office buildigs) and once I exited out and head out to the suburbs, no more 3d view at all.

Same here, it only works downtown in larger cities. But still, I think it looks absolutely fabulous, especially landmark buildings, like here in Rotterdam the townhall, the medical center and the world trade center

Thanks for sharing, looks awesome.
To select the 3d view you have to untick "traffic info/gray map" in the settings menu.
It took me a few days time to figure that out.

Any F10 owner living in NYC, Chicago, Toronto, HK? Would love to see some downtown views.

Very cool, but I guess you can't get 3D navi everywhere?

I think it only works in city centers. At least, here in Rotterdam it only works in the city center. In suburbs and outside the city, it's as flat as the rest of the country (the Netherlands, that is )

I love this option as well! I work in Downtown LA and seeing the 3d images of all the buildings is sick!

3D works in the centre of Amsterdam as well. There are no high rises in the centre though, but as Erce confirmed, the landmark building are actually highlighted.
I think this will look sick in a historic city like Paris or London.

I also noticed that the 3D view is only available in the nav display zoom modes of 25-50-100 meter.

@ Edwin: Exactly. I was in Amsterdam yesterday and took some shots of my nav screen. No high rise, but still fantastic:

Can you post some images of your nav screen when driving through LA?

You can't see it ... you will have to test it ... put perspective view always on and don't forget to check the 3D option in the settings ...

So i normally drive in perspective mode, your saying if I have 3D perspective mode always checked, it will automatically populate 3D if the area I am in offers it?

yep.....you usually need the scale to be 450yds or less to see anything useful though. mostly only works in major cities or near major landmarks (buidlings/stadiums stuff like that).

Drove past stonehenge in the UK last week and got a little 3D image of the stones (not the rolling kind...) appear on the sat nav display.
