It is the automatic transmission behaviour. Try to downshift while breaking using the paddle or the stick.

I complained to my SA about surging when accelerating coming out of a slow turn and I also experience lag on accelerations. After much research, they decided to update my transmission software. I couldn't be more please with it out.

That's the first time anyone ever mentioned anything about transmission software. Good to know.

Got a CPO 2011 535iX recently. Experienced in the lag or hesitation on the acceleration. However, if push the lever left to the DS position (sport mode?), the response seems to be a little faster. Of course the engine will rev higher. I wonder how the software update comparing to the DS mode.

You must have done something right to teach your car how to shift properly. I am going to try this and drive it hard for a week. Will report back.

Yeah Definitely let us know. Some people have tried it but after a couple weeks it would do it again.

Sure thing. I did a complete software update a few months ago and dealer told me transmission was updated as well, but I experience lag and some hesitations. Hopefully, this will work for me as it has for others.

I registered just to say a big 'thanks' for the reset info; my recently purchased 2008 535XI developed the start-up hesitation a week ago, and I was certain it was a serious (and $$$) problem. The engine off, pedal down reset worked first time-huge thanks!

I recently had my car's transmission reprogrammed due to sluggish take off and jerkiness at slow speeds. I must say the car is now how a BMW should be. I can't wait to drive the car again. Time will tell if this is a permanent fix.

I guess this temporary reset works on some N55's but not all..
