I did a little coding with BG's Protool, and enabled key fob closing of windows and mirrors, along with the rain sensor closing windows/sunroof. I wonder if that is an always on function and could end up being a parasitic draw though? Also enabled Euro brake force setting... not sure what it does, but Euro...

Possibly my least favorite maintenance item. Mainly because I can't imagine a car engineered to have this integral piece fall apart and need replacing on a regular basis! No car I have ever owned has had a piece like this and it infuriates me that I need to replace them.

Well.... i did a letter delete yesterday, but i landed on a antitank mine....🤦🏻‍♂️ trunk was slightly damaged with a dent(i knew that when i was buying a car) and i decided to remove letters and polish that part, but repairman put invisible coat over all trunk, and over letters so i had to grind that part with water paper and polish. I got 90% i wanted but it looks ok. And today i removed my screen to clean debris and dirt from previous owner, as it was almost unclear to view at bright light. Now the car looks few years younger! And washed it after big mess. Cleaning screen is easy process. Remove trim from massenger side to start button, just hang down, and two torx screws hold plastic blend under screen. Screen is just one connector, easy to pull out. I removed plastic trim, and removed metal frame around screen to clean everything. It was all sticky and purple, like cats scratched it. Cleaned it with fx protect interrior cleaner and microfiber cloth. Just wipe left right and up down with finger. Slight pressure, and it goes.

Last weekend did an oil catch can and this weekend replaced alternator bolts, weather cowl and all jackpads. I have a 90 elbow to fix the kink in the catch can hose! Just need to find the time.

My 10 year old '14 LCI F10 535 is not looking too bad.....(picture taken today). It has served me well. Within only 49K miles, tires, battery, oil, air filters & struts/shocks (koni specials) are the only things replaced so far. Haven't even changed the brake pads yet.

I replaced the handle grabs from a G12, to wood ones, and wish that all BMW's came with this version of handle grabs. I use the handle grabs all the time and really don't like the "all" plastic versions.

I thought that the grey on the handle would match a bit more closely to the Silverstone Merino Leather color, but the shade is a little off.

I might change the plastic color on the handle grabs to either flat black, or Silverstone, or just leave them since nobody looks at them except me anyways.

Not sure what info you are looking for, but they are F10 ///M5 seats, front and rear. Front seats are ventilated, heated, and massage - working 100%, of course in Silverstone II merino leather.

The seats are accompanied with a 100% full merino leather door cards (top & bottom), 100% full leather dashboard (top & bottom) and 100% full leather center console (top and bottom).

Retrofitted power rear sunshade, retrofitted 4-zone climate control, and some other tid-bits back in 2019 after the factory warranty ran out.

...except for the Alcantara headliner, Alcantara rear window shelf/speaker cover, Alcantara Sun visors, and the Alcantara A/B/C pillar upper covers, which would be another $1000 or so (may include shipping), but I've not found a listing on eBay that is worth installing - they all tend to be dirty, worn, ripped or all the above.

Once we get a break from the rain on the weekend, I'll be able to drop the front bumper and quickly rebuild my F10's headlight assemblies. The black rear headlight canisters (buckets), pictured, are new, and will make the headlight repair pretty easy and fast....I don't have to worry about saving the old black headlight buckets, which tend to break rather easily over the clear lens material.

Using plastic to protect the lens until I can clearcoat them.

I've seen some folks just "wrap" the stock headliner in alcantara, might be worth looking into?

Did I miss a write-up on you doing this? Necessary coding, wiring and such? Are the M5 seats more comfortable than the comfort seats?

Less of a "what did you do today" and more of a "whoops"

Had a little slip when taking an exit turn too quick for the wet. Actually goes to show how unsettling the suspension can lead to slip given the right conditions, since you can see that the car was not happy as soon as I hit that pot hole.

Yeah, but you brought it back in control rather quickly. I avoid potholes, ESPECIALLY in corners, as best as I can. There was a rather nasty minor sinkhole in the right of the right lane of a climbing two-lane right 270º interchange. It was marked 25mph, but that's only a "suggestion" (yellow speed sign). I would take it at 50ish regularly... so long as I could get in the left lane. To avoid the sinkhole, I would either hug the left of the lane or straddle the hole, partially on the shoulder. The one time I hit the area (not in my BMW, but still a RWD, 50/50 platform) the car got a bit upset, but I wasn't going that fast due to traffic.

BTW, what was going on at the left at the end of the video? Looks like a truck may have tried to prove physics wrong and occupy the same space at the same time as the car.

I believe the SUV rear ended the semi. I didn't pay too much attention for...obvious reasons haha

///M5 seats have merino leather which is 10000% better than the Dakota most cars came with. Bolsters are bigger and they are all around nicer. Wiring will depend on what spec you have. Mine only required coding.

M_Bimmer helped me a lot with gathering info when I did my retrofit.

...adding heated steering and updating the steering wheel to ///M stitching has been the best mod so far...(Brand New Lifetime Warranty Steering Wheel from FCP for $700 back in 2019. Had to buy a heated steering wheel anyways)

...most challenging mod was the 4-zone.

...the easiest mod was the rear power sunshade.

...the most time consuming mod was changing all the leather from dakota to merino/nappa.
