Stage 1 power out of the box, if you want stage 2 power you'll need to run more cables into the dme. Sounds like it's going to be a more complicated install than the current stage 2 and that's a breeze

Been following the post on the BMS forum. Terry said it's the same amount of wires as Stage 2 in different locations and of course the JB4 control box.

So I guess this will be called JB4 N63.

The N63 JB4 preliminary dyno just had a 2011 n63 equipped 550i do 503whp and 560wtq... with a little extra tweaking we are looking at stock m5 levels on stock turbos with race gas/e85.

The n63 DME can only be flashed once correct? Once the dealer gets their hands on it and updates it can no longer be flashed again? Well, you do have a BMS Stage 2, you should give the JB4 a shot and see if it compliments your Alpina Turbo setup.

If anything you maybe able to pave the way for all the Stage 1 Turbos out there like Alpina, Pure, and Vargas. You should ask Terry if the N63 JB4 has safeguards in place like the N54 JB4 has. If it's more stable than the Stage 2 was. I guess that was the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger on the Stage 2.

Looks like if you are going to use a race gas blend or octane booster then you will not need the BCM and Flex Fuel wires. I can't get e85 over my neck of the woods but race gas is available.. I was going to link but I wasn't sure if linking to another forum was against the rules or not...

No BCM yet. We have E85 and race gas here local, but not a priority for me as of now. The OBD features are going to be nice, and hopefully clearing codes from my iPhone as well. Curious to see what it changes.

I'll be looking forward to your review. I have been holding off on the Stage 2 due to it being IMO, a more unrefined tune. With the JB4 (hopefully with all the safeguards built in and better control) we will get all the safety of the JB4 and a nice bump in power.
