Springs or Coilovers?

With Spring coming soon my car will finally be lowered. Problem is over the winter I've seen alot of pictures posted here and I'm wondering...for those who went with "Springs" are you happy with the drop? About how many fingers between the wheel and fender? And than I'll see someone posting pictures with a coilover drop where the wheel sits just a Tad in the wheel well and people will post "too low for my liking!" If you guys can give me your opinion I would appreciate it! I know it's my car and I should do whatever I want but I always like to hear opinions. Thanks everyone! Oh...if I do coilovers I'm leaning towards KW V1 or V2.

If u want a minimal drop & u are not tracking ur car, springs is more than enough.

Otherwise go with Coilovers. Much stiffer than oem shocks / springs.

I ordered the ACS springs, much more expensive than the H&R springs but I heard they are more comfy & I don't want a big drop so it should work just fine for my needs.

+ 1

Adjust-ability is a key difference as well. Depending on which coilover system you get: dampening, ride height, camber can all be dialed-in to exactly what you like. Being able to adjust these things is not just for aesthetics, but may also open options for more "aggressive" wheel specs and benefit handling.

So there's about a $700-800 price difference between the KW1 and Megan's. I did a search and seems like people have no negative but positive feedback on both coilovers. If it were you would you end up spending the extra $700-800 for the KW's? I'm on the fence here. The difference can go towards the install and other aftermarket goodies.

Go with the KW. The 2 are not even comparable. Just my opinion.

Just curious but which springs give the biggest drop? Reason I ask is some ppl have added springs and weren't to happy because it still didn't sit low enough for their liking

I just bought the h&r and they are said to lower your front 1.5 in the front and 1.3 in the rear. You can use a tape measure against your fenders to get an idea of where your car will sit after it settles. Good luck. I went with springs over coil overs because it was more cost effective and I wanna save towards an exhaust system.

Yeah...same here! Contemplating because if I go springs it would leave me more money for other mods...but I'd hate to drop it with springs and end up wishing I should've gone with coilovers. I still have another month to decide but I'm about 75% coilovers!

i like my coilovers a lot. they are stiffer and can be set up to be less so if desired. it does allow you to be more aggressive with the wheel set up (as you saw already) and not worry about bouncing around and rubbing over every bump. and if you overshoot on offset or tire choice, the ability to raise it or lower it, is very convenient. after my install, the car felt like a whole new one. it handles so much more better and i like that it's a tighter set up especially with some spirited driving. if you can swing it, go for it!

Anyone have experiences with the CKS? They run about the same price as the KWV1's?
