Factory tinted windows ?

Does anyone know why BMW doesn't include factory tinted windows on any vehicles other than the X3 or X5 ? I was told by my Client Adviser that this has been the case for the past 5 years. I called BMW NA Customer Service and they confirmed that the X3 and X5 come with "Privacy Glass" standard, but not the 5 series. When I picked up my new 535i at the Welt last week, I was surprised that there wasn't any window tinting, and thought perhaps it was due to a glitch with ED, but the lack of window tint applies to all US-bound 5 series.

Tinting is usually an option you choose. Not everybody likes it.

Tinting, esp. the front windows are illegal in most countries

Oh, I thought he was talking about the sun protecting windows. They are a bit tinted. Who would want a tinted front window?

my windows are tinted but just a tiny bit, like when you look from the side you can see its tinted alittle.
