Springs install cost?

What's the typical cost to install springs on an F10 xdrive?

I'm being quoted about 7.5 hours from multiple shops which ends up being $900-$950, plus wheel alignment on top. That's seems high to me.

Only one shop was around $450.

I'm in Calgary, Canada.n

Its not that hard to do. Not sure how mechanically inclined you are, search for a DIY... I put the coilovers on mine in ab 3-4hrs taking my time.

I'm being told by an auto-mechanic friend that you need a spring compressor (for either front or back, can't remember)

you need spring compressor for both. go rent it at the parts store for free.
- you will also need a small 18" bottle jack to "jack down" the control arms to get enough clearance for the bottom shock bolts!
- you also need a bending 3/8 ratchet to be able to remove the rear shock top nuts.
- i also suggest you get a buddy to help out. 4 hands was a lot easier then by myself.
- last but not least! make sure you torque everything down to spec!

good luck and enjoy it!
