How does one get a third working remote?
Took delivery of a 535ix in May (Comfort Sense). I have one key, my wife has the other. I called my dealer today to get a price on an additional remote key fob, anticipating that some day I may misplace my key. Only $261, but he says the car will only support two remotes at a time. That's a big help.
Dealer service dept couldn't think of any way to have a third working key. I guess I could get a divorce! Maybe I can call the dealer and ask him to bring me a loaner. Any ideas? Even if I had done more research before buying the BMW, I don't think I would have discovered this one. |

I think they may be right. They have to deactivate the missing key and then activate a new one. At least this I remember from a buddy who lost the key to his 7 a couple of years ago.
