Diffuser for 550i

I have the comfort access on a 2012 550i xdrive msport. I do laugh at my self as I wave my foot back and forth, is there a secret to making it work the first time, every time? I just picked up M5 mufflers, and read the thread on the M5 kit and adapter to make sure the comfort access continues to work. My question is this, is there a diffuser that has the same look as the stock M5 or similar that will just mount up to the stock msport bumper? Looking for suggestions.

to answer your first question, BMW explains it in the owner's manual page 40, it shows a drawing of how to do it. Second I also just bought a set of M5 mufflers and I will be in the market for a diffuser but the M-sport bumper will take pretty much all the after market M5 style diffusers. I am going to wait and see what comes up in the owners market place on this blog.

so the m5 muffler tips angle out differently than the trapezoid tips.

here's my m5 comp package exhaust with standard 550i diffuser

as you can see the inside part of each exhaust opening had to be cut as the m5 exhaust is more inward.

So you do need the m5 diffuser/adapter (as mentioned in the DIY'S) to make the exhaust openings.

I went OEM (got the kit from getbmwparts.com for 230$ (un painted))

once i put the adapter and other pieces in i can swap the actual diffuser part out for any other diffuser made for an m5.

hope this helps.
