Do you guys hear the engine sound inside the car?

I noticed that when I'm inside the car at a stop light or just idling the car..and the sound system is off and the aircon is at the lowest speed I can hear the engine ticking sound..the sound a direct injection engine makes. Do you guys hear it too?

nope. my cabin unfortunately near whisper quiet at idle. one of the annoying things about it, actually.

you have a 4 cyc 528 I assume?

A little bit unrelated, but any other 11 535 owner have insanely loud road noises while on the highway? Its bad enough that even at relatively high volume, I cant hear anything from the stereo!

Anyone?

Unless you have an obvious fault as poorly aligned doors i bet its noise from the tires you hear. Probably from the tires themselves from the pattern, wear pattern or tire pressure. Do you have OE spec rims? A lower offset will transfer more noise to the cabin.

The run flats make a bit more noise, my winter tires are more quiet than my summer tires. Both are 245, but 18 winter and 19 run flats summer.

Tires with a V-shaped thread pattern will also generate a lot more noise.

My drives door may be slightly off alignment, there is a little wind noise there and I will have them check it when it goes in for a service next month.

If the run flats are third generation you shouldn't notice the difference though.

No sound - 550. It's dead quiet.

550 has no sound. At WOT, you'll hear some sounds but it's probably fake.

Honestly, the only thing I hear(with the music off) is my girlfriend.

I was given a 2015 528 while my 550 was in for the CCP.....I could hear the engine through the speakers crystal clear.....

When they go from "girlfriend" to "wife" it won't matter if the music is on or off.

I usually tell my boys to shutup So they can hear the engine purrrrrr! Usually that's followed by my wife asking if I need to get a room for me and my car LOL!
