Well, the Droid is not in the Compability List, so I think you just have to try it out. If the BT profile is correct implemented, it should work. Your car must have the Combox post-september option (code 6VC). A nice thing (among others) is that you can upgrade the Combox yourself with new phones as soon as BMW checked them out. This is done with a USB stick via the USB Interface in the glovebox. You must of course then also have the USB interface (Code 6FL)

How do I specify the 6VC option? I just checked my "Vehicle Inquiry Report" -- 6FL is on there because it's part of Premium Package 2, which I'm ordering, but 6VC isn't there. (Is that the BMW Apps??)

I think you get the 6VC (Combox) as standard if your car was produced after September 2010. The preparation for BMW App is 6NR.

I know that Apple got there first but as the F10 is going to be driven by a lot of professionals who would prefer not to just follow the crowd but go for real performance in their devices as well.

This thread does not make it sound like the Android is offering "real performance". For now I think I'll just "follow the crowd".

I guess I'm safe. My car's official status is "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date." Looks like it'll be one of the last 2011s produced. (My appointment at the Welt is at 5:20 on August 1. Too bad it's not 5:50!)
