Bad to turn engine off in Drive?
In this electronic age (without physically moving a shifter or gear lever from Drive to Park), is it bad for the transmission to turn the engine off while in Drive and let it electronically select Park? Not that I'm lazy, but I inadvertantly did this and just wanted to know if this could possibly harm anything....

It does lead to bad habits if your other car is not a BMW. |

it's fine, but make sure when you turn off your car it actually turns off... one time I quickly hit off button not realizing car is still on, and when I released brakes it started to move almost hitting car in from of me...

I've done this a few times (some on purpose) but don't see how it would hurt the car. I don't plan on making it a 'bad' habit. My E60 used to do the same thing.
