May I request all attendees to now start posting as to what you guys would like done to your cars?

I am aware some of you are new to this and are in for the learning, but I would still like the attendees to post what they think they might want.

This will give me some idea as to manage the workflow.

An example of what I am looking for

- Auto radio off on door open
- Reduce Mirror closing time on button fob and touch handles

Hi Gspannu,

Happy New Year !!

Thanks in advance for running Sunday's coding session.
I will definitely try to come along, if only for the map update.

Can you please confirm which of the 3 versions of map to download? 'Professional', 'Move' or 'Next'? My broadband is painfully slow, so I really don't want to select the wrong one. My 530GT states the following, so I'm assuming it's the 'Next 2015-1' version, right?

09/03/2013 (101112.2.117)
Road Map EUROPE Next 2013
NBT-C123411

Regarding coding, you've already done most things, and they all work great. I'd just like to double-check the high-beam auto-activation setting. This seems to be intermittent, so it might be better to revert back to the default setting.

Thanks again,
Niggle

You are welcome...

You need to download the Next 2015-1 link maps; and your nav will be updated to 2015-1 maps (these are the latest European maps released by BMW)

Once again thank you for doing this for us all.

DVD in motion
Folding mirrors at faster speed
Rear DRL
Map update
High Beam Assist (if possible)
Radio off when door opened
One touch boot closure from key fob

Quick question: parking on the day?

How many of us does it seem will attend? Will parking/space to do this be an issue?

Is there an earliest time you want us to start turning up, and not before?

Thanks again, really looking forward to this.

Sorry, another question.

I downloaded the maps from your link before you updated the post and posted three links for different maps files. So do I have the correct files?

Parking should not be an issue.
I am planning this event next in a free car park (adjacent to Coop store.
There is also a Costa Coffee shop next door, so people can hang around there.

Numbers - still counting [need to track back in all the posts]

Start time in morning - I was thinking 9 am or whenever the first person turns up.

If anyone wants to come earlier, just write in the post and I will manage accordingly.

coding session

Hi man I am so pleased to here that your doing this I am new to the forums as I am new to having an F10.

How can I get location details?

also I have a 2011 F10 with the dreaded Halogen light setup at the front, can you code the angel eyes to make them brighter and on as DRL instead of the dipped and rear lights?

I'm thinking about upgrading the front dipped beam to a CREE LED 6000 lumen kit, but I can't find anyone who would fit and code it.

With regard to the coding I have the CIC Pro Nav without DAB is there anyway to code so that I receive DAB or retrofit it?

The NBT (or Next 2015) link is the same. If you have the full size Professional Media SatNav, then you have downloaded the correct one already.

I only added the 2 other links for people who may have the smaller SatNavs.

[Congratulations, join the club]

How can I get location details? [I will post the exact location closer to time. It will be in Basingstoke RG24 postcode area]

also I have a 2011 F10 with the dreaded Halogen light setup at the front, can you code the angel eyes to make them brighter and on as DRL instead of the dipped and rear lights? [Can do, not a problem]

I'm thinking about upgrading the front dipped beam to a CREE LED 6000 lumen kit, but I can't find anyone who would fit and code it. [No idea, I am not into retro-fits]

With regard to the coding I have the CIC Pro Nav without DAB is there anyway to code so that I receive DAB or retrofit it? [No way to receive DAB with coding alone, you need the hardware. I have no idea about retrofits, but I am aware that BMW themselves do a retrofit kit. Speak to your dealer or look on BMW website. It is somewhere on the page]

Awesome re parking and timing.

Ok, here's my list. I'm almost embarassed to post it, as it's really extensive. Some of the stuff on there I don't know if it's possible at all, and it's got some questions as well. If all of it is not possible, or there isn't enough time for, no problem.

Here goes:

Member: vladman
Car: F10 November 2012 model
  • Update maps to 2015 (bringing USB stick with me as per your instructions)
  • Digital speedo in dash (how does this work, and where is it displayed (I have the Full Black Panel Display, but not the multi-function one). Can this be switched on and off once coded in, or is it permanently there? Does it interfere with the display of anything else? Is it true GPS speed or the same as displayed speed in the speedo/HUD?
  • Current street name always displayed in HUD (I think I read about this somewhere, would really like this)
  • Turn signals in HUD (what else can be displayed in HUD?)
  • Not sure this is even possible, but if so, remember the last driving mode after turning the engine off then back on. By driving mode I mean ECO-PRO, COMFORT, SPORT, SPORT+
  • Rear DRLs
  • When opening doors, do not interrupt auto-closing of windows
  • (if possible) make the boot opening button on the fob work WITHOUT having to unlock the car first (then when the boot is closed again, the car re-locks and re-arms itself)
  • Hi-beam assist auto-on (but still switchable on/off)
  • Panic function on the remote
  • (not sure if possible on my car) set the auto-dip of passenger/driver mirror on selecting reverse, and restores angles when back in drive
  • Add sport displays
  • Add launch control
  • Fuel refill points along the route
  • Add route magnet
  • Add pressure and temp readings for tyres
  • Add extra video codecs and ability to store videos on internal hard drive
  • (not sure if possible at all) always display current gear somewhere
  • BMW apps
  • Front fogs on welcome lights

gspannu, you're a star! Thanks for this!

Car -F10, Sep13. Pro Nav. NBT with Touch iDrive

Sunday works and if you could enable the following that'd be ideal.

EBT
Updated Maps
Radio off on door open.

FYI - I had my car in for service last week and a software update was done on the nav system. Changed a number of things for the better, some cosmetic (font size, icons etc), some features such as route type, changing image size in media and some UX improvements, eg, additional menu options.
Hope this doesn't cause an issue? I will post the software version later.....

Cheers

I'm downloading the European Premium 2014-1 maps, turns out that my satnav (April 2012 CIC model) has . the 2015 version doesn't appear to be out yet.
Those of you may have a CIC satnav , might be of interest.

Am I correct in saying that Europe premium map 2015 for CIC cars is not out.

Great thread and v helpful forum member.

To the best of my knowledge, the CIC European Premium maps are not out yet.
Of course if anyone does find them, shout!
Because of that, I've downloaded what I believe is the current ones as of right now the 2014-1 European Premium.
This is in the form of 3 USB sticks worth of info. approx 7Gb each.

Not sure on the "professional" ones. Best thing to do is to find the version you currently have on your car which can be found if I remember correctly by "right selecting" whilst in navigation and somewhere there , you'll find the version.

Obviously depends upon the hardware you have in your car. Mine, a 2012 model had CIC , I think that was the last year for that being replaced with NBT shortly afterwards.
