Special ordered this car in 2011 to get the manual transmission and some options I couldn't find like the rear seat climate control. In the first year of production, the F10 M Sport package was bundled with the Dynamic Handling Package. It was a very pricey option package (this is why M Sports are rare on '11s) and I didn't order it.

Fast forward four years and I still love this car, but the one thing it was missing was the aggressive look of the front M Sport bumper. After reading about MWPos's conversion, I was inspired to get it done. You can see his post and parts list here http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=806000

For those considering it, the conversion doesnt require any real mods, but there are a good amount of parts that need to be switched out. The M Sport uses different air ducts, energy absorber, frame, under engine shield and various other parts. The real challenge is finding a body shop that you trust and is willing to take on a project like this.

I was very lucky to find D&V Autobody in Northern VA. I worked with Kevin and Travis who are both enthusiasts, detail oriented and a pleasure to work with. The fit and paint are perfect. If you live in the DC, MD or VA area and are looking for a good body shop, this is your place.

All parts are OEM and I held onto the non-M Sport bumper cover if anyone is looking for a replacement.

First two pictures are before, second two are after.

I have a 2011 535i sport and I'm just about to embark on this same journey...had the parts department at the local dealership order me what needed to be changed and I am using the same body shop that our local dealership takes their cars to. Hopefully, they ordered all the right parts.

Just the front bumper. I may go back and do the sides and rear now that I have a good body shop. But then, I can see this getting out of hand quickly...sides, rear, steering wheel, 351Ms, gear shift, foot rest, door sills...

I ended up going with the M Sport bumper conversion kit that getbmwparts.com sells. In theory, the kit has everything you need and is discounted vs. buying the parts individually. Unfortunately, they got some parts wrong like the absorber and lower grills. I also somehow ended up with (2) additional lower center grills. We reached out to getbmwparts.com for 3 days before we saw any action which added a couple of days to the process.

In hindsight, I would have taken your parts list to my local dealer and bought them there or had the body shop order them.

I just completed this and did the full conversion (side skirts and rear bumper) with all OEM parts. I gave my VIN to the dealership here, thinking that it would help in the process. However, for some reason, they ordered the wrong front bumper support which delayed the completion of the installation. Just make sure that you remind whomever you are ordering the parts through that you are converting a non-MSport to an MSport.

That said, the look of the car is completely different and I love it!. I have the M351 wheels, the MSport steering wheel (since my car is a sport model) and changed the grilles to the black gloss ones. No door sill plates yet, but I may not even bother since I don't have a black headliner or the adaptive suspension buttons.

If you do go OEM, be prepared to spend about $6k for all the parts plus up to $2500-$3000 if you go to a good shop for paint and installation.

Awesome! U should post some pictures! As for the rear bumper I know both the msport and m5 use the same bumper cover but different Diffusers. I've read numerous threads about it but did u notice anything different parts wise between both Diffusers?

I actually never even entertained the idea of using the M5 rear diffuser only because I haven't planned to upgrade to a quad-tip exhaust. If I was planning that, I would have probably looked into it.

I'll post some pics pretty soon. I just got the car back a few days ago.

Would love to see some pictures. Where did you buy the steering wheel and 351M wheels?

Looks great, but to be honest I would rather keep the OEM wheels rather than these black 18"

I like them both. I run the OEM in the summer (19") and the black BBS with snows in the winter (18").

This is a copy and paste from MWPos's thread....

Please note that this is for a RWD car. If you have an XDrive, there may be some differences in the under-body panels.

As evident in the before and after photos, the conversion is complete. I'm placing this post to be able to show the parts list it took to get from base-model to M-Sport front bumper in case anyone wants to shop for the parts themselves. I'm very happy with the change. Enjoy!

Here's the list of OEM parts I used in the conversion project:

I fitted M-Bumper to my Pre-Lci 530D F11.

One problem, there is a Sensor sitting in the front of the old bumper, with a bracket (I believe it is an airbag sensor or something) on the M-Sport bumper there is no bracket like this, what did ppls do here? it is connected to the PDC harness.
