'Partial' black panel display on 520D's from 3/11?

Has anyone got info on what the 'partial black panel display' is on the 520D's?

It seems that all the HUD guys will be getting the full black panel display (with the 9" LCD), but for those without the HUD option, this partial display seems to be in.

Anyone?

All F10 5 Series have had the partial black panel display from day 1. The little section under the rev counter is a TFT display.

Hope that helps.

I've specced HUD on my car which arrived in the country a couple of days ago. I'm hoping it will have the black panel but at the end of the day I didn't know about it before I'm ordered so its just one of those things

be interesting to see if UK dealers offer a retrofit for the instrument cluster with the full black panel display. I would think in theory it should be possible its just a part and software recode.....guess the kicker would be home much would you want it and be prepared to pay for it I think I can live without it......maybe....yes, definitely...i think.....

+1 I agree I can certainly live without it. Strangely I tend to look ahead down the road most of the time...
