Question on sway bars

So I have a 2013 M Sport RWD. It has the M Sport suspension. Does anyone have experience with adding after market sway bars with stock suspension. How much will they reduce body roll?

Thinking H&R or Eibach or turner

In my experience the M5/650 route on my 535 was pretty easy, removed a bunch of slow swaying body roll, but increased under steer noticeably. There is a post in one of those threads from me before I purchased where I did a little math and figured that might happen. I'd like to get an aftermarket bar larger than the stock 650 bar....

I am going to hijack this thread a bit but same topic... I just bought a black/black 2013 535i cpo yesterday with 37k, M sport, premium, technology and cold weather packages and I am looking for a few upgrades as I am coming from a E90 335i with a JB4 and DCI. Tint, new Sways and a tune are first up.

Looking at the info I can find, the H&R set uses a 30mm front and 20mm rear sways, but is kind of pricy.

The M5 front is reported at 29mm (but I saw a pic from a link above with calipers measuring it at 26mm?).

The 650 rear sway is 16mm (?).

What sizes are the stock F10 M sport sways?

Anybody tried the M5 front (which is reported to create understeer) with the 20mm H&R rear to make it more neutral to oversteer? If so how does it drive with this combo?

Should I need to change the end links front or rear with these sets?

Just wish the 2013 had sport seats like the 2012 I test drove...

I did the ECS sway bar kit which is the M5 front and 650i rear. I did the rear first and there was a noticeable difference in body roll on turns. Put the M5 sway in a few weeks later and no noticeable difference. So if you go oem I would say only do the 650 rear. If you do the front go bigger than M5 sways.

Stock MSport with passive 704 suspension FSB is 24mm, rear is 14mm
The M5 FSB is 26mm. Most guys I've seen go with the 16mm 550D/650i RSB so you get a 2mm increase for the front and rear.

Part # 31357850119 is M5 Competition Pack front sway. 29mm on the thick part and 26 on the very middle. Not sure why it varies, but its 29mm on parts other than the center section.

Thank you. Good info.

Does anyone know about the H&R sways? Is their FSB really 30mm in the middle or is it similar to the M5 FSB where it is a smaller diameter in the middle? If it is also smaller in the middle what is the real diameter?

Since this is just a big torsion bar it is that middle diameter (not the ends) that controls how (twisting) stiff it is.

Thanks! That clears up the confusion between the 26mm and 29mm specs. It's both.
Here's a post from the M5 board explaining the difference between the stock M5 bar and the M5 competition pack bar.

The M5 front bar is not uniform thickness everywhere. It's thicker near the ends than in the middle. You can't call it a pure 29mm, nor can you call it a 26mm based on a single caliper measurement.

I'd like to know this too.
