Retrofitting 2014 LCI Steering Improvements
I do like the electrically managed steering on my 2011 535i. It is not unreasonable to assume that the purported steering improvements being designed into the 2014 LCI F10's will be installable in our 2011 - 2013 vehicles by virtue of a software update or electronic modue/circuit board change.
Time will tell as we discover the nature of these improvements at the release of the 2014 vehicles and technical information thereof. |

I don't think it would be that easy or BMW would have updated the software when all the initial reviews started picking up on it as a big flaw. Personally I think it will be a new steering rack at a minimum of hardware changes or they will put active steering on all cars as standard (not sure if active steering fixes all the feedback problems though).

I am now driving a F11 530d with AFS; compared to my previous F10 535i which only had the m-sport suspension the steering and feeling are much better.
