Tires, Run Flat vs No Run Flat

I think I have been duped by my dealer. I needed new tires only after 10,000 miles on my 550i M sport, and he said no run flats were not available for the 550i. Then I went to Tire Rack and found Michelin Super Sports, $700 cheaper than the Dunlop OEM run flats!
The no run flats should make the car handle better, I just have to have a can of fix-a-flat in the car, correct?

Non run flats are cheaper and ride better than run flats as a general rule. It is up to you whether you feel comfortable without a spare. Most that switch carry a small compressor and a can of Slime fix a flat or similar.

I was just doing the same thing, bought a jack set from BMW (nicest jack set Ive ever seen, but you can talk them down to $150.00 for it) I am buying my spare tire donut for the F-10 from beamerzone $300.00 you also can get the jack set up there...Ive heard most dealers wont want to clean out fix a flat or slime, it is also bad for the tire sensors. My run flat tires are looking pretty worn after 11,000 miles

Some fix a flat sealants are quite messing and can damage TPMS sensors. Slime is TPMS safe and cleans up with warm water per their website.
