F11 windshiled condensation
Hey guys,
Please see attached photo of my windshield from the inside. Sometimes, especially when it's cold and sunny, parked outside... The windshield get really wet and it takes ages, like 20 minutes to clean it with full blast fan. I'm not talking about foggy window, which is clear after few minutes, but drops of water sitting there... Anyone has any idea where the problem is? The car has 60K km and is in perfect condition. Should I go to service or is there any other way how to fix this? Thanks for any help |

You need to get rid of the moisture within the car, damp carpets maybe?
Nothing to do with anything BMW - but this is likely to solve your problem.... Put some "raw" rice in a bowl and leave it in there for as long as you can without opening the doors, overnight, but maybe a weekend if you can. The rice will draw all of the moisture out of the car, should solve your problem. Or, it maybe your climate needs regassing, if you get this done, the rice will still pull the moisture out overnight.

Have you looked for ingress of water, like a door sill plate showing moisture when left overnight? A leaking inner door membrane could be causing water to track over the door seals and under the carpet. Don't forget to check around the front screen, in the boot, (under the floor), HighlandPete |

Your breath is very humid and when the outside of the windscreen is significantly colder than the inside, condensation will form. The bmw has a sensor to prevent this condition so long as AC on with AUTO program. |

This has happened to my old e90 too, but only in cold weather when the sun sits low and heats up the inside of the car during the day.
But only the window sitting opposite of the sun gets all the condensation.

Thanks for the replies. It never happened while was someone in the car. It happened when car was parked. Over night or just few hours somewhere else.
Trapped water inside the car is probably a possibility and will try the rice solution over the weekend. |
