BMW courtesy cars
Soo, I'm going in for some service and apparently BMW Canada (Vancouver for me) is now charging $24.95 for every car used per visit. There's also a 100km cap and gas is no longer free.
This is completely ridiculous!!!! Does anyone know why they are doing this?? We're paying a premium for these vehicles yet we're being treated like we purchased a Honda civic or something. Other luxury brands do not do this.. I'm pretty annoyed right now but have no choice..

I took my vehicle in for some work a couple of weeks ago and was provided a new 328xi as a loaner for free. They gave me a choice. A loaner or shuttle. I took the loaner as I had appointments throughout the day.
It would be detrimental to BMW's image if they start doing this. |

Yup. The ultimate courtesy car experience right there. This applies to BC and Alberta so they can save and cut down on their annual expense on courtesy car.

lucky me ! I still don't pay ... at least for warranty services. But I have an upcoming scheduled maintenance + warranty service at the same time, let's see if my dealer will make me pay ??
In Toronto, dealers are charging different prices for the loaners, domestic & Asian - $20; BMW $40. + gas usage, of course. |

I'm in Canada and had a 2013 535 loaner two weeks ago - still in August. Didn't pay a cent and had it for 5 days and no mention of mileage, gas, or any cost at all.

Hi there,
I am in Vancouver as well and we recently picked up our 5series from the BMW store. Which dealership do you recommend to get service done? I heard alot about Autowest BMW and the BJ, but nothing much on the BMW store. |

the dealership i go to use their new cars off the lot as a loaner car. after so many days, they put it into the used lot and sell them for a few grand less. twice so far, i had to bring back the loaner car to swap out for another loaner because they sold the vehicle i was driving. i hope they will not charge for loaner cars

Some dealers are now charging for the use of a loaner car, which is garbage! I had the same experience at a MB dealer when I had my E350. The dealer was changing $10 to use their loaner, and gas wasn't even included! I also contact MB USA and told them that this will not help their business. I then, traded the car in for a F10 535i!
Now, my new BMW dealer (in Arizona) provides a FREE loaner car for any services done there. My old MB dealer is across the street, so I give them a finger, every time I drive by to go to the BMW dealer! Quote:

This BS would never fly in US.
Perhaps some dealers may offer some kinda "creative" paid flavor of a loner car, but as long as Lexus, Audi and others have it for free BMW will have it too. If a dealer wants to charge you for a loaner, change the dealer.

I'm all in favor of the charge. I live within walking distance of the dealer I use for service, so I rarely need a loaner car. I don't like the idea that I'm paying for something I don't use.

It's odd to hear you have to pay for a loan car. Similar to immx, here in Scotland its free.
