When is xdrive for the 5 series coming?

I'm hearing from my dealer of around sept/oct/nov? I am so anxious, I just want it sooner than later. I am told that I am first on the list for the 535xi and will be contacted in late May, early June to finalize my order colors and options. Anyone know of the estimated arrival dates??

I live in Michigan, USA. We have 3-4 months out of the year when we get snow and I live on a hilly suburban area, thus with 8-10 inches of snow during snow storms, its so convenient and safe to have an x-drive to get through the heavy snow and up and down the hills. The other months are fine with spring/summer/fall being warm from 50 degrees in early spring to 90 degrees during mid-summer. I could get a RWD BMW and put snow tires, but I rather put down an extra 2000 dollars and just go with good all season tires (granted that all seasons are not perfect like winter tires) since i had RWD cars before, but they get stuck on the hills and high grade driveways. Anyways, we have a 335xi coupe and its perfect all year round: sporty, smooth, and goes through the snow just fine. I have an Audi A8L and Mercedes Ml350 4matic (all AWD cars). Most of the driving are on highways (40-80 miles a day driving).

ok, in your case then it will be the reason..
btw, All-season tyres is not a good option imo, i'd take some 17" winter spiked tyres for such months.

You are right that all seasons are not perfect options, but I have been fortunate to have some good types of all season michelins and yokohamas. I like bridgestone potenza winter tires. We cannot use spiked wheels on the roads and highways in USA.
