Which tires should I get.

I've been told about a couple brands like Accelera, falkens, hankooks, nitto nt555, Goodyear and Pirelli. Any ideas which one. I have a 550 with around 460 hp. Moving to 20"

for street tires, we've done more of hankooks, falkens, and michelins. personally our cars are on hankook K110s for street setup.

I have a brand new set of TOYO T1S in my warehouse. Never mounted.
Still have stickers on them.
245/35/20 & 285/30/20

I just got a set of Conti DWS's and love them (245/35 & 285/30). They have a 540 wear rating and are very quiet by my standards. I just flew home in the rain and they handled AWESOME! Some people say the walls are soft but I really don't get it. They handle great. I paid less then $800 for the set.

BTW- Lacster is selling Hankook EVO v12's that have great reviews for a summer tire and are perfect size for most F10 wheels. $700 is a great price. They won't last long IMO.

Yes. Quiet and wear evenly, good tread life, inexpensive to buy. I've got 25K+ on wife's E60 DWS and the shop said they're still 6-7/32nd inch left. Pic below.
I'm actually considering them when I upgrade my F10 to 20" rims but am wondering if they can handle such a heavy car like ours. I think the stock Michelin RFT handle OK for me but they're noisy and ride a little harsh.
Do you ever have problems pushing the DWS tires in the twisties?
Thanks

I've got the Conti DWS on my 2012 X5 and they're great. Going to be putting same tires on my 550.

But if I was in FL or CA, I would do something else most likely for better dry handling. I am partial to Michs personally.

I've only had them on for 3 days. No issues at all yet.

I don't know guys. These were literally one of the worst tires (handling) I've ever had. I had them on a Honda Accord and loved them, awesome in the rain and snow, and never really felt a drawback as I never pushed the Accord.

Got the same exact tires on a C-class and I've regretted them every day I drive on them. The constant correcting/maneuvering under spirited driving and the sidewall flex on them is ridiculous.

Like mentioned earlier, very quiet tire, good tread life, but the handling is not there.

I just recently put the Michelin AS3 Pilots on my 550i and they're amazing.

They handle like summer tires, so far amazing in the rain (less than 2k miles), I'm sure they're no good in the snow but the tread life is over 400 and I get traction under heavy load in 30 degree weather.

They're also more "square" and look beefy on the stock 19" Msport wheels

On second thought, maybe some Michelin PSS or A3, for several hundred $ more, would remove all doubt. I've not read any negative post for these Michelins for the type of heavy car we're driving.

I paid $395 shipped for the fronts (tiresavings.com) and $350 shipped from a forum member on the rears. Discount Tire has $100 off $400 deal on ebay right now where the fronts would cost in the low $300 range.

$642 on Tirerack after $70 rebate. With install + ship it would be around $800+ perhaps?

OP - If you don't need an all-season tire, get some quality summer performance tires. Michelin Pilot Super Sports are pretty much the cream of the crop right now.
