Just got my new 528i, some observations

Have the car for 2 days now. Space grey color. I am generally quiet pleased with this new 5 series, but some how not so excited as when I got my X3 last year. Maybe because no need to wait.

Some observations :

Positive :
1) Superb Drive quality
2) 10.2" LCD with GPS, very cool
3) Quiet Cabin

Negatives :

1) Not enough storage space! I got keys, my phone ( which cannot fit anywhere so have to keep in my pocket ), parking cards, parking tickets, change for toll and all the car provided is two cup holder slots. The door slots are so narrow, can barely put anything. .

3) Aircon some slight creaking noise at startup but gone after a while.

Think I will still be going back to my X3 most of the time. Especially it is now rainy weather. ( In my city, frequent rains = floods )

Anyone knows where to find a socket to charge the phone in front? I don't think it's the cigarette lighter....

There is a socket under the dash on the passenger side.

This thread may help you: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...ghlight=socket

Remember the storage compartment under the headlight switch, it's kind of hidden.

Terima kasih for your thoughts! Enjoy your new ride. Can't imagine how expensive it must be to import a F10 to Jakarta!

+1. You can even store a small .38 there.

The 5 series is locally assembled in Jakarta. Both BMW and Mercedes assembled the common models here, not imported.

Learned something new everyday. I had no idea BMW assembled the 5 series outside of Germany.

Got another f10 buddy here in Indonesia.

Actually they do have both..
One is CKD - Complete Knock Down
One is CBU - Complete Built Up

CKD they assembled the car in Indonesia; CBU they import it from some other countries.

The 528 f10 costs around 100k USD

I used to live in Seattle so I know how big the price difference is between cars here and in the US.
