DAB Radio

Hi All,

I am currently driving a temporary 2014 520d with Pro Media, my own car, a 2014 520d with Business Media is having a new gearbox fitted.

Anyway, does anyone know how I can pick up DAB BBC Radio Wales on the DAB radio? I am Oxfordshire.

I thought the idea of DAB was that you could pick up any station available (or I am getting confused with internet radio / Sky box radio?).

I cant seem to find a search option anywhere, is this not available as I am not in Wales?

Any help or pointers very much appreciated.

Ahhhh, I think I know the answer to this, I'll need to listen on t'internet or Sky / Freesat box as it looks like it's only broadcast over the air in Wales:

Yes

Even on DAB you have the concept of regional stations so there will always be some stations that are only broadcast from some transmitters however your range of national stations is much improved.

You can however get a number of internet radio apps for your phone that can then be played via the car. Indeed the BMW Connected app has an internet radio function in it.

My favourite is Sky Radio from The Netherlands

Thanks m@rk. Going onto Amazon to order one of those ViseeO things.

How are you getting on with yours? Does it work with iPlayer Radio? Have you found any apps it doesn't work with?

.......once my car has a new gearbox.

I don't use iTunes (or iPlayer Radio) although I have tested it with iTunes and it did work. Likewise, Podcasts work fine and Spotify (all I was really bothered about) works. I have tried a couple of internet radio apps (including the BMW connect one) and they too work just fine
