Ordered 520d M-Sport

Hi folks,

I've got a 2012 520D M-Sport at the moment, and the time has come to replace it.

I'm sticking with the 520D for BIK reasons, but have added plenty of toys.

Going for Carbon Black with the Cloth/Alcantara (I'm weird and don't like leather). It's a real shame that Estroril Blue isn't available on the 5...

To say I'm a bit excited would be an understatement - it's gadget heaven.

New B47 engine, so 119g/km on the emissions and a bit quicker than the old model which is nice.

Delivery last week in July (edited, sorry about that).

I got an absolutely super deal on this car from a guy I've been dealing with for years. He really is the best sales advisor I've ever known - PM me if you want his details.

Great, but can you really get the MY2015 engine in June? Sounds strange since they start building them in August. I got September as earliest possible delivery time for a MY2015.

Model Year 2015. BMW used to change the model from Septemper production, but last year they did it from July Production.

You sure? It's not even listed as one of the 'Individual' colours.

A dealer back in March had two Estoril Blue 520d M sports for sale on their approved site.

I would have loved an Estoril Blue 5 series, in fact at £1700 had it of been on offer, I may even have ordered it!

Salesman said that it would have added 6 weeks to the build.
He explained the BMW individual process to me - and it's not very Germanisque efficient! They actually physically take the car out of the production line just before the extra bits go on ,it goes to another location(factory) to be individualised and then 6 weeks later, it slots back into the production line, just after the point that it skipped.

I would like any coloured 5 series as opposed to the shades of grey currently on offer. However the lack of colours does give me an excuse to get a Ghibli next time around :-)

Well... It is indeed possible. The cost is £1698, but the bad news is... It adds 8 weeks to the leadtime of the car.

(just to be clear - I wasn't second guessing you guys, I'd already asked the question of the dealer)

Working to a budget so went for a 520d m-sport just with the auto box with paddle shift. Alpine White with....cinnamon brown leather (bit worried about this one nearly changed my mind about 10 times). Fed up of black interiors fancied a change. Read some of the comments on the forum about cinnamon and it did put my mind at rest.

Guys how long does it normally take once the car is made and awaiting shipping to the UK?

Sounds like a nice choice, as you say the cinnamon is highly regarded on here. I went from black to oyster for a change, and really pleased I did.

Once it arrives in the UK it is usually at the dealer within a week or so then PDI etc, so add a few days for it to get to the UK I guess
