2012 F10 N63 Motor Mounts DIY
Does anyone know if you can successfully change the motor mounts in this car without dropping the subframe? I haven't seen much out there on the internet about this.
I want to lift the motor 3 or so inches to do it but don't want to tear a bunch of stuff up in the process if it can't be done. Has anyone tried this? The ista/d instructions for this job are horrific and I am hoping someone has tried/done this the old fashion way without tearing up the downpipes etc. Cheers! |

Search "F10 Engine Mount" in YouTube and several videos come up. I've only watched the 530d one, and he goes through it prey thoroughly. Not sure how the gas 3L might be different?

Thanks. Yes....I have seen most of them but nothing on the V8 twin N63. In one of the videos I think someone does it from the top on one of the cars.
Anyone do this on the N63? The ista instructions hurt to read. |

I 100 percent did this on my back without dropping the subframe very easily on my N63. lifted the engine just enough after removing the cross bars since it pressed against them immediately.

Quote:
1.) tied up the engine with engine lifter stand from the hook near alternator or 1.) lifted the engine from bottom via jack ? 2.) unscrewed the engine mount 3.)so you lifted the engine by the hook from the top and removed the mount and replaced and screwed it.. |
