Hey Greeny! My car/ship came in on the 10th and it's now showing "At Final Processing Center". Like you, I too am on vacation so even if the car comes in to the dealer I won't be able to pick it up. Earliest I can pickup is Monday 21st if it's ready. My dealer has no sense of urgency so I doubt he'll call me as soon as it comes in. Anyway, good luck and hope you get your car soon.

Are there any dealer reps on this forum who can check their system to find out the updated status of any vehicle currently at the VPC?

Same here, I was on the Mignon as well. My dealer is making a habit of not telling me anything, but he did say it would be here today at the latest. Haven't got a phone call yet though...

It was easier two weeks ago when the car was still in Germany. At least then, I knew about how long I had to wait. This "it could show up at any time" thing is horse patootie.

My car was/is set to be delivered yesterday or today. Knowing that it could be delivered at any moment makes the wait excrutiating. You would think I'd be used to this cycle having ordered 3 BMW's previously, but I guess one never truly becomes accustomed to the anxiety that accompanies situations such as this.

This is the first time I've had to wait on a car. Excruciating is the perfect word.

I got a phone call shortly after I posted that this morning... from my SA. It's funny how caller ID can make you alter your "hello". I knew it was him, and I tried to not make it sound like I just won the freakin' powerball when I answered the phone. Bad news. He expects my car to be here on Tuesday now. At least he gave me a date this time, instead of the "any moment now" he gave me before.

Best of luck in your wait. Hopefully you got a phone call right after your post with better news than mine.

Is this according to your Sales Associate, or the BMW website?

Five days is a bit long, have you asked what's taking them so long?

I'm sure you must be a Priority 1 since your car was a special order, sold, no?

This is according to my sales associate. He said it is very unusual for it to take this long. It has never taken any of my previous orders this long to reach the dealer. He told me that he checked this morning and the system doesn't show that the vehicle has been released to a transport unit yet. His GM said that this particular shipment from Germany may have been a bit larger than usual, but even still, this is unusual for a sold vehicle.

He said that he hopes it'll arrive sometime today or tomorrow, and that he'd call me Friday. I'm tempted to suggest that we take a drive out to Oxnard to pick it up ourselves (..as if that were even possible).

There's a number for them to call directly to the VPC? I'll send him a text message to suggest that.

That's crazy. It's taking a long time for some reason. How much longer do they tell you it will be before it arrives at the dealer?

No projected timeframe given. I hope it's one of those situations where the car is actually being transported, but the system isn't updated. Hope is the keyword. This is depressing!

How long has it been, total, since you placed your order?

I placed it sometime mid-June I believe. It was a mature status vehicle, so it went into production fairly quickly.

Car probably was damaged and is being repaired, if you ask me. There is coverage elsewhere in this forum about that possibility. I'm pretty sure they don't tell you when that happens...
