Question for Technoids: Was there a minor change to the F10 in Sept 2010?
As most US readers will know, Tire Rack sells a huge volume of performance tires and has an extensive knowledge base on what works for various high-end vehicles. I looked at TireRack.com to see what wheels might be available for the installation of winter tires on a 2011 535i (for next year).
The website asks for specification with/without Sports Package, as one would expect. However, I was surprised that it also asks for specification of the Build Date: (a) before September 2010, or (b) September 2010 or later. I understand BMW restarts production in September after its summer shutdown. But I wasn't aware that anything changed after the initial production of the F10. Can anyone explain? |

Yes, there were positively "changes" with Sept 2010 production. My dealer made a big deal out of it. I do not recall ever seeing a list of all the changes, but I know the combox was new, the single cable ipod connection was new, the M Sport was either new or had some new features, and that some of the steering and grinding issues reported from summer 2010 were supposedly fixed.
There may be more changes (i.e., was carbon black added as a color?) with the F10 2010 production. The third "edition" of the 2011 F10 I believe was with the March 2011 production. |
