Auto stop-start 530D

Does anybody know if it is possible (and if so, how) to set the auto stop-start to default to OFF, so that I don't have to switch the damn thing off manually every time I start the engine?

it can be coded.
I have mine set to remember last setting (which is effectively off)
it can of course be set to off by default as well. note if you select Eco pro it will switch on again.

very popular option for coding along with tons of other things

You'll need E-sys , a valid token , a laptop and a cable to connect the laptop (via nic) to the cars OBD.

I asked the dealer when I got the car if they could do this and I got a response back from BMW saying that it was technically possible but that they might have to inform DVLC as it would affect its CO2 / tax bracket!
I'm not aware if that situation has changed but Id put money on it not being the case.

Yes, it can be coded right off or to use 'last setting' .....

My car was built late July 2013 an early LCI - turns out that about a month later the Factory shipped 'em with ASS set to this as default .... had a multi-email dialogue with BMW about this and bottom line they refused to do it.

The Dealer offered to do it for £250 ....... so I went to a well known Coder on this site and had a few features coded to my requirements.

Most satisfying ....

Interesting, I wasn't aware that BMW had changed the default setting on the latest models. About time, I guess enough people complained.

My car (built Feb 2014) does not remember the ASS status. I have to switch off every time I start.

You are right. The LCI seems to have reverted back to the original setting (default to ASS being ON each time you restart).

This is a very easy thing to code - if anyone wants it done, come around to my place and I'll do it...

Hmmm - my source last August/Sept is impeccable, so I guess they re-thought it - maybe to do with published MPG figures needing the 'help' of ASS ?

Go with Pannu's offer - lots of other useful things can be coded ...
