It depends, if you're going to get it on a PCP it won't affect resale value at all.
I personally am not a fan of the cinnamon leather, it looks nice at first but it seems to show wear and tear more than other colours and starts looking quite shiny.

Cinnamon is a beautiful colour, the wear & tear is no different than any other leather colour (in my opinion). The biggest advantage is that it ages very well; brown shades generally age better than blacks or whites - it is just how the synthetic colour reacts to UV light.

All leather colours are now synthetically dyed. What makes the leather shiny (after a few years) is actually bad maintenance or over maintenance. Most of the creams (& conditioners) sold in the market are actually not great for leather. What they do is clog up the natural pores of the leather and stop it from breathing.

If you regularly clean the seats with just a damp cloth, no conditioners or creams or oils - your seats should be fine. If you have to use any cleaners, use the mildest leather cleaner you can get (not a general purpose cleaner).

When you first get your car, you may want to use a leather coating on the seats to stop blue marks (blame denim jeans!) embedding themselves in the leather. Ensure you buy a good coating designed for the leather type. After that, just regular clean wiping.

Having seen some of the recent pics on here of the cinnamon leather, I'd definitely consider it next time around if I stay with BMW. Think it looks very classy.

It's a Marmite colour.

Hmm, I've seen 3 or 4 cars with Cinnamon leather, admittedly the cars had around 30-40k on them and the seats had a horrid shiny surface and heavy bolster wear.

As Dippo says, it's a marmite color, I'd prefer a darker brown colour over the cinnamon.

Ummm - not sure what a marmite color means.

That said, I opted for Space Gray / Cinnamon and love it. If I had to do it over again I would - and did as another new Bimmer is just completing production.

I was tired of the standard black or gray interiors - wanted to add some eye candy for the interior.

As to durability, I doubt that the coloration has any impact on the life of the leather or underlying bolster padding.

I did struggle with how the color was presented in many photos - some looked like a neon pumped pumpkin orange - horrible looking. In person it is very BMW like and sophisticated.

My $.02 - your mileage on the topic may vary.

I have cinnamon brown in my carbon black 528i M Sport and absolutely love it..looks elegant and classy. No regrets whatsoever. I think each to their own.

Absolutely agree.

I wish I had ordered it before I ordered my car with Oyster. I could not get to see it in person (before I ordered) and the photos do not do it justice.

I saw it later and it really look great in person; very suave and rich colour. The exclusive stitching with the comfort seats - looks awesome.

I have cinnamon with near 30k and have no wear on the bolsters or shiny look. (comfort seats) With dark wood it looks nice and suits a dark colour paint or white very well.

I've got Cinnamon and it is a really classy interior. Wouldn't have initially chosen it, as I'd have preferred a light ivory leather. Sophisto Grey and Cinnamon really work together.

Don't understand the wear and shine issues at all, can apply to any leather if abused.

HighlandPete,

The color in your photos, at least on my monitors, looks way more orange than in real life. The actual color of the cinnamon leather appears to be very difficult to photograph. It is far more towards the brown than orange and looks more sophisticated and muted than most all photos I have seen of it.

The small sample image on the BMW site is very accurate on my monitors.

At any rate, BMW makes it all work together very nicely.

Cinnamon is the best colour. Apart from coral red....

I have to say, I really wanted the Cinnamon at first, it looked very nice on the BMW configurator photos. But after seeing a couple of used vehicles with the worn leather, I was somewhat put off. :/

I don't regret going with the Oyster though, it really livens up the cabin and is a welcome change from black leather that I've had for a long while now.

I am the same, the cinnamon does'nt have the wow factor of oyster, and really brightens up the interior after having had black leather, which I love, forever!
