Piano Black interior conversion
My car is in for painting work, and I asked the guys if they can do trim... They said they can do paino black and lacquer...
Thought it might look ok and be ok to do it. They said they might be able to do a peice of something to show me their finish first... what do you think???? |

I have the silver stuff which looks OK but Paino Black is way better. I have been looking at dipping and all sorts. But yes, I defo need to make sure I am happy with the result or it will be £600 for a new set. Until people crash more and end up on ebay... come on... more crashes.

That's pretty much what I'm planning. Although I have the honeycomb effect on it. I was thinking of buying a single piece of trim from an E90 or something first, and letting them try on that to see what it looks like, before getting them to do it on the F11.

It is a shame the piano black is so expensive on m sports, £600+ I think it was? I would loved to have had it with my oyster trim, but went for the honeycomb effect too as I am too young for any wood versions and I have it in my E60 currently and like it better than the aluminium

I had piano black on my A4 Black Edition, and it was fine. I'm not really one for touching all my interior trim all the time anyway. Buttons on the radio, yes, trim, not really much reason.
Anyway, I actually found a couple F10 door trims on ebay, in the honeycomb aluminium finish, for reasonable enough price to warrant buying. Will take them to my painter when they arrive, and see what he can do. If I'm honest, I would rather it wasn't filled. I would like, if possible, to keep the honeycomb texture, but with the high gloss black. It would be even more unique then. |

I have piano black trim also. Beautiful and highly complimented on. Got a bad scratch but I have a piano repairman friend that took it right out. So the trim deserves much care!

How come ATOM BOY - PM me a price mate
Clever Idea on the mottled finish... that and my new re covered M sport stitched wheel, I might look the nuts. However I prefer to the original if Atom Boy sells me his. |

Hi xs2man,
Just checked and you bought the trims from me! Small world! If you need the main piece that goes across the dash I also have that available for sale on my eBay. Thanks, Dave |

Ha ha. Didn't realise it was from someone on here. Small world indeed.
Don't need anymore parts I think? I just bought them for painting to see what they will look like. And then I'll probably get my original trim done. Unless of course you have the full trim there, and it is the same as the LCI F11 trim, lol. |

Was actually thinking of wrapping myself I have the brushed aluminium trim that has a few nasty scratches from the previous owner that catch my eye every time I drive the car . Really annoys me .

That looks great! Do you have more pictures? How difficult was it to do? Did you have to take all of the pieces off first or can you wrap them with the pieces in place?
Looking at the web site, this isn't actual carbon fibre film, right? It is a vinyl film that looks like carbon fibre? Still, it looks cool.
