Idrive Screen border
Hey guys..I have a pre-Lci F10 with the 10.2 inch drive screen, I really like the way the LCI screen border looks with the chrome lines around the screen, have any of you changed it to the new one? Just wanna know if its compatible with the pre lci screen. Don't think BMW would have changed the screen size or the dashboard size, but maybe the holding clips are different? Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure it's compatible and I've read of people changing it on here.

Just google f10 navi, the LCI got a shiny bars on both sides of the screen, which the pre-lci hasn't.

I did it on mine...
You can swap it out no problem. The 2011's have a little red LED built into the trim on the right side of the screen, and the new trim doesn't so I just left it hanging in the back, otherwise it fits just fine. I also swapped out the silver arm rest button trim with the original flat black one that was all scuffed and worn out after 40K miles of use. DSC_8326 by ONEighty_NYC, on Flickr |

i ordered it from my local dealership..you will have to remove the screen to fix the new one but the holes on the screen do not match the ones on the new border so Im still figuring out how to attach the screen to the new border

ok so I finally was able to install on my f10, honestly it was quite hard to go as the new border has a pretty different shape from the back, so the plastic gets in the way of being able to fit the screen properly, i took about 2 hours and cut away a lot of the plastic that was in the way…was then able to put it on the screen, but I was unable to screw it to the screen as all the screw locations are different. That said, even without the screw the trim fits quite tight thanks to the dashboard trim pressing it inside. I think the change in look is much worth the effort! Here are some pics...

Only if ur car has NBT can you you fix the new screen border. For pre lci cars with CIC...the holes on the screen don’t line up. Mine doesn’t rattle but I’ve pretty much welded the piece to the screen using superglue
