550i stock exhaust size

Does anyone know the stock exhaust diameter of 550i the n63tu motor? I believe its 2.75 but may be wrong. Im trying to add a x pipe to the car and remove resonator but whenever i tell a exhaust shop the piping size is 2.75 they tell me they cant do it.

Did they have to weld on any extra piping to make it work or did they just weld on the x pipe by itself? Only reason im saying 2.75 is cuz when i got my axle back exhaust installed I remember them saying the stock piping is 2.75 in dismeter. Seems like i should just buy a 3' x pipe from sunmit racing and take it to a exhaust shop

yea stock should be 2.75"
but any shop that knows what they are doing should be able to make things work, specially with a generic 3"

The issue is that standard piping and all the benders that they have in shops are catered towards the smaller diameters. 2.5" or less. 2.75 is actually pretty unique... so you should find a performance exhaust shop or one that does diesel trucks.
